Offering business support for young people interested in starting their own business alongside Enterprise Education to develop the skills needed in an evolving world of work:
We have worked with over 100 young people to help them start and run their own businesses, ranging from baking to graphic design. EYP works with young people (14-21) who have the aspiration and drive to set up their own ventures and supports them to do so through 1-2-1 mentoring and guidance.
Whether they have an initial idea or want to explore what they could do, we are here to help them through the process working with them on business planning, marketing, sales, finance and much more.
We recognise that for young people finance can often be a barrier to starting a business. Through the Better Barnsley Bond we currently have access to a limited number of small grants which can be accessed by young people for essential items to start their businesses.
Young People can access up to £500 to purchase essential items to start and run their business.
Enterprise education focuses on the skills which are involved in starting and running a business, and enabling young people to realise that they are transferable and desirable for employability purposes in all destinations whether that be employment, self-employment and university or further training.
