The Big Challenge

Every year young people from Barnsley take part in the Big Challenge, our enterprise start up competition. It's an amazing way to get your idea off the ground and learn about running a business at the same time.

Along the way you will have the chance to learn new things, develop skills and meet some fantastic people who have already run their own businesses. The competition will also allow you to develop entrepreneurial skills for self-employment.

To enter the Barnsley Big Challenge event all you have to do is:

    • come up with an idea of something you want to sell
    • start selling it
    • make a profit
    • keep the profit
    • compete for a range of fantastic prizes

You will get the opportunity to attend various trading events, marketing events and submit an application on your business.

If you are interested in getting involved, speak to your careers adviser or enterprise lead in your school.
