Pay: Minimum of £3:70 per hour (National Apprenticeship Wage rates)
Hours: 37 hpw including college
Duration of Course: 2 years
Job Description: This is an ideal opportunity if you are a school/college leaver looking for on‐the-job
training. You will perform a range of tasks, in particular:
Production of CAD drawings using BIM software.
Supporting the administration of projects.
Meeting agreed deadlines.
Working as a member of a team.
Assist with the development of design projects.
Working initially as an Apprentice Structural CAD Technician, you will be exposed
to various aspects of architectural and structural steel works.
You will develop skills in AutoCAD and other software and have the opportunity
to complete a level 3 diploma in Design and Draughting and BTEC level 3 in
Construction and the Built Environment.
Desired Qualifications: GCSE 4‐9 / Grade A‐C in Maths and English
Desired Skills required: CAD, Engineering or Construction qualification or experience
Desired Personal Qualities: Interest in construction, engineering or design, ability to pay close attention to detail, desire to learn technical design software packages such as Tekla, good
attention to detail, organised, creative.
