Hours per week: 37 hpw including college. Duration of course: 2 Years
Pay: Min of £3:70 per hour (National Apprenticeship wage rates)
Job Description: This is an ideal opportunity if you are a school/college leaver looking for on-thejob
training. You will perform a range of tasks, in particular:
Preparation of drawings and working closely on construction plans with
clients, architects, contractors and other professionals.
Developing design ideas using CAD software, Revit, Civils 3D & Tekla.
Managing project CAD directories, drawing management and paper filing
systems ensuring all work complies with company procedures and
Working as a member of a team.
Working in an office environment.
Working initially as an Apprentice CAD Technician, you will be exposed to various
aspects of architectural and structural steel works.
You will develop skills in AutoCAD and other software and have the opportunity
to complete a level 3 diploma in Design and Draughting and BTEC level 3 in
Construction and the Built Environment.
Desired Qualifications: GCSE 4/9 Grade A/C in Maths and English
Desired Skills: CAD, Engineering or Construction qualification or experience
Desired Personal Qualities: Interest in construction, engineering or design, organisation skills and attention to detail, the ability to work independently without the need for close
supervision, must be enthusiastic, punctual and reliable.
