Ambition Barnsley, a careers event allowing secondary school students to explore the various options for Higher Education and employment, is returning for its annual episode at the Metrodome.

During the day on the 20th November, numerous schools from Barnsley are bringing along students from Year 9-11 to visit the interactive stalls exhibited by colleges, providers, support agencies, universities, and employers from across the country.

Parents/Carers of Year 9-11 students are able to attend the open-event for the evening session from 15:45-18:30pm (last admission at 18:15pm).

With this year’s stall providers ranging from major universities and colleges, to global conglomerates such as Rolls Royce, Ambition Barnsley 2019 is looking to be the biggest and best in what has been a long-running season of annual events.

Glass Works, the organisation currently developing Barnsley town centre, will also be in attendance to showcase how our future town will look; a first chance for citizens to visualise the work being done.

Parents and students of the past years have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the interactive aspects of the stalls, as well as being educated and informed on all the possible avenues for students once they finish secondary education.

Don’t just take our word for it! The ‘Student Journalists’ from last year’s event, Meghan and Lacy, created a blog about their experience: http://ikic.co.uk/ambition-barnsley-2018-eyes-student-journalists/.

Here they express their joy in partaking in make-up tutorials, meeting the Mayor of Barnsley, and learning ‘amazing facts’ about the RAF. We hope you can join us to experience the event for yourself.
